Mayke en Mark - trouwen in Hoorn

Een blonde juf met blauwe ogen en een commerciële jongen met donker haar en donkere ogen. Toen ze elkaar enkele jaren geleden diep in de ogen keken wisten ze dat er geen ontkennen aan was: wij horen bij elkaar! En dat werd op deze huwelijksdag uitgebreid bevestigd en gevierd.
A blond teacher with blue eyes and a commercial guy with dark hair and eyes. When they looked each other deep in the eyes a few years ago, they just knew that denial would be in vain: we belong together! And that is what they confirmed and celebrated on this amazing wedding day.

Voor de fotosessie zijn we Hoorn ingegaan. We begonnen in het Julianapark, altijd een mooie lokatie voor foto's. Nou weet iedereen die ons blog wel eens leest of onze website wel eens heeft bekeken natuurlijk dat wij niet zo erg van de traditionele foto's zijn, maar zo is het traditionele bruggetje wel erg gaaf!
We went to Hoorn for the photoshoot. We started out in the Julianapark, which is always a pretty location for photos. Everyone who reads our blog every now and then or who has looked at our website, knows we're not the type for traditional photo's, but this very traditional bridge becomes pretty cool like this!

Daarna gingen we door naar de mooie Oosterpoort. Ook een geliefde lokatie voor Hoornse bruidsparen en dat is niet voor niets.
After that we went on to the beautiful Oosterpoort. Another popular location for Hoorn brides and grooms and rightfully so!

De drie bruidsjonkers waren mee voor de fotosessie. Ze hebben zich keurig gedragen!
The three ring bearers came along for the photoshoot. They were very well-behaved!

En soms ietsje minder :)
And sometimes a little bit less :)


Onder de poort is het licht echt prachtig! En met zo'n mooie bruid is het dan leuk foto's maken!
The light underneith the archway is beautiful! And with a bride this pretty, it's easy making great shots!

De bruidegom mocht ook af en toe in beeld :)
We would let the groom in our shot every now and then as well. :)

Hoorn is natuurlijk een stad vol mooie plekjes en we zijn ook nog even bij het Houten Hoofd geweest, de prachtige monumentale steiger die vorig jaar helemaal gerenoveerd is.
Obviously, Hoorn is a city full of the nicest locations and we also went to the Wooden Head, the amazing monumental boat ramp which was totally restored last year.

De burgerlijke ceremonie vond plaats in het oude raadhuis van Hoorn, het monumentale Statenlogement midden in de stad. De Schepenkamer, wat nu de trouwzaal is, is mooi!
The civil ceremony took place in the old city hall of Hoorn, the monumental Statenlogement in the middle of the ciy. The Schepenkamer, now the wedding hall, is so nice!

De kerkelijke inzeging van het huwelijk vond plaats in de fantastische Koepelkerk aan de Grote Noord.
The wedding mass took place in the fantastic Koepelkerk at the Grote Noord.

Mayke wordt door haar vader naar haar bruidegom gebracht.
Mayke was walked down the aisle by her father.

Niet alleen het kinderkoor uit Zwaagdijk was aanwezig, ook de kindjes uit de klas van Mayke waren er bij om te zien hoe hun juf trouwde. Tegen het einde van de mooie mis werd luidkeels 'Lang Zullen Ze Leven' gezongen, waarbij de klas lekker vooraan mocht staan zodat juf ze goed kon zien!
Not only did they have the childrens choir from Zwaagdijk, but all kids from Mayke's class were there as well, to witness their teacher get married. To the end of the beautiful mass, a congratulary song was sang loudly, and the kids were allowed to come up front so their teacher could see them!

Na de zegening werd de dienst afgesloten en mocht het bruidspaar door de prachtige erehaag van erebogen en bellenblaas naar buiten lopen.
After the blessing the mass was ended and the bride and groom walked outside through the colorful arches the kids made and the bubbles they blew.

De dag werd vervolgd in Midzomernachtsdroom, het restaurant met misschien wel het mooiste uitzicht van Hoorn: over het IJsselmeer!
The day continued in Midsummernight's Dream, the restaurant with possibly the most amazing view of Hoorn: the IJsselmeer!

Eerst was er een kinderreceptie, met veel fristi en chocoladetaartjes. Daarna werd de mooie bruidstaart, gemaakt door de man van Mark's zus (hoe cool is dat!), aangesneden.
First there was a kids' reception, with lots of sweet drinks and chocolate muffins. Then is was time to cut the amazing wedding cake - which was made by Mark's sister's husband (how cool is that!).

De trouwringen, met daarbij een ring die voor Mark heel speciaal is, zeker op deze belangrijke dag.
The wedding rings, and a ring that is very special to Mark, especially on this imporant day.

De dag werd afgesloten met een diner voor de daggasten en een feest dat ongetwijfeld tot aan de andere kant van het IJsselmeer gezien werd. Het was niet alleen een dag met prachtige locaties, maar vooral ook met een prachtig bruidspaar!
The day ended with a dinner for the day guests and a party that I'm sure didn't go unnoticed. It wasn't just a day with beautiful locations, but most of all it was a day with a beautiful couple!
